I have very exciting news.
Thank you to all my readers of the DavidInfosec Blog. It’s David here once again, with a brief blog post to announce that after over 400+ applications and frequent updates to projects and developing strategic business relationships, I’ve landed a role in IT. It’s been a long time in the making, and this marks a pivotal moment in my career. I’ve had the pleasure to meet very important people who have directly impacted me and my success, and I would have had more trouble staying motivated if I had not had them in my corner, celebrating my victories, as I celebrate theirs as well. Having someone else go through the same steps with you, resonate with your experience, and go through the hard times, makes the celebratory moments all that more memorable– when you both end up in a good place in the end, you know it’s going to be a friendship that lasts forever.
My role is very exciting, as although my role leans more toward general customer support, I am able to be fulfilled in the support I can provide others. Circling back to my personal philosophy to provide high-definition, world-changing solutions, I can certify that in my job, my mission is being fulfilled.
Without going too much in-depth, I help people in the field of education find the right resources to develop their careers, whether it’s a parent or a teacher, or school staff.
I think a lot of my success started after I learned where confidence comes from. I watched a life-changing video from Louis Rossmann. (He is a YouTuber known for his advocacy of right-to-repair, and videos highlighting the flaws in anti-consumerist practices by large corporations.)
In this particular video on confidence, he stated that:
Real Confidence…
“…comes from what you do for others and
the value that you’re able to provide..”
“Provide to others, and see how they provide to you.”
“…Because you were able to provide
them value, they want to make sure that
your life is taken care of…”
Again, I could not have made it here without the assistance and valuable insight from my close friends, the opportunities in my local communities, my faith in Jesus, and my family members. I really appreciate your support, especially those that prayed for me.
Lessons Learned
The lesson for this post is all about pushing through, even when it seems like things are going bad. If you are playing a video game, and you and your friend keep having trouble accomplishing a task, it takes both of you to keep your head up to keep moving forward. If you keep your hopes high, it helps them keeps their hopes high as well, and vise versa. There were many times where I was able to use this kind of formula when friends were discouraged, and I could be an energizer for their difficult times. As a result, when you are at your low points, that same person will remember what you did for them. The friends that allowed me to be comfortable taking breaks, re-evaluating my steps, and redefining my targets, while being honest and upfront about it, allowed me to be honest with myself and find a lot of ways to improve the things I thought I was already good at. Don’t be afraid of change.
Stay posted for more updates! I am still working on all my projects and this blog will stay active.
Best,
David
